Horse Rescue: Horses for Service
Some more inspiring goodies from Daryn Kagan.com.
Today's story is about a woman rescuing abused and unwanted horses in Ohio. She bought her first pony at the age of 8 (as did I! Cinnamon!) for $50, sold it to a someone who could provide him with a good home for $100, and put the money in the bank until she found another horse to rescue. She's been rescuing horses ever since. Now she prepares these horses for a life of service as either mounted patrols or special needs services. She will only adopt horses out to homes that already have a horse to ensure that new owners understand what's involved in caring for a horse.
